The first factor that we need to monitor is the water hardness which is the calcium and magnesium (Ca/Mg) content: Laundry water should not have more than 120 ppm hardness. If the water hardness is more than 120 ppm it is considered very hard water and if it is below 60 ppm it is considered very soft water.
